How sessions work
Most family sessions are 60 minutes at a location that works for the family — your home, a favorite park, the neighborhood, somewhere meaningful. In-home sessions photograph the family in their actual life rather than a manufactured backdrop, which is what we’d recommend for newborn and young-children sessions. We work in natural light wherever possible. Kids set the pace; we follow rather than direct. Most sessions yield 30-50 professionally edited photos delivered within two weeks via a private gallery with full-resolution downloads and print release.

Where do you usually shoot family sessions?
Wherever fits the family. In-home is best for newborn and young-children sessions because it photographs the family in their actual life. Parks, the lakefront, and meaningful neighborhood spots also work well — we'll help you choose based on the kids' ages and the time of year.
Do you photograph newborns?
Yes — newborn sessions are done in-home during the first weeks. We don't do studio newborn work with elaborate setups; the approach is documentary, soft, and gentle.
What if the kids don't cooperate?
They usually don't at first, and that's fine. The documentary approach means we wait. Most of the best photos come from the moments after the kids have stopped trying to perform and gone back to being themselves.
