Brand film production for Chicago businesses, agencies, and founders. Where commercial work sells in 30 seconds, brand films build relationship over 90 seconds to five minutes — telling who you are, why it matters, and what makes the work different. We handle research, interviews, and the editorial choices that turn business material into something people actually want to watch.
The difference between a brand film and a commercial
A commercial sells. A brand film earns trust. Brand films work because they don’t pitch — they reveal. Done well, a brand film is the thing a sales team sends a prospect after the second meeting, the piece a recruiter shares with a finalist candidate, the asset that lives on the homepage and outperforms the headline. The format rewards specificity. Generic brand films fail; specific ones get shared.
How we structure the project
We start with research — founder interviews offline, customer conversations where appropriate, and a written brief that captures the story we’re going to tell before we shoot. Production is typically two days: one for principal interviews and b-roll planning, one for the actual b-roll and environmental shots that make the story breathe. Post-production is where brand films are made. Editing takes patience because the story is found in the cutting room, not the call sheet.
What you get
A 90-second sizzle for landing pages and high-traffic placements. A 3-5 minute longer cut for sales conversations, recruitment, and About pages. Vertical and square derivatives for social. Color-graded, sound-designed, and scored. We license the music properly so the film can run in paid placements and broadcast without rights complications later. Most brand film projects deliver in 4-6 weeks from approval.

questions, answered
What's the difference between a brand film and a commercial?
Commercials sell a product or service in seconds; brand films build understanding of the company, founder, or mission over a longer runtime. Most clients want both — a brand film for the website + sales, and shorter cuts for paid social.
Do we need to have a script ready?
No. Most brand films work better from interviews than from scripts. We do interview prep with the founder/team, then shape the story in editing around what was said.
Who owns the footage and final film?
You do. Standard licensing covers full unrestricted use of the final delivered films. Raw footage stays archived with us; if you need raw masters, we can include them in the project agreement.
